Hey you :)
My name is Lukas and I‘m born and raised in Germany, Hamburg. I‘ve studied Japanese for over 7 years now and have a bachelor in Japanese Literature/History .
So far I have given private German lessons for about a year teaching German basics. So if you just started learning German or want to re-study the basics, then I can be a good choice.
My lessons are available in English or Japanese so feel free to contact me in the language you feel comfortable speaking/learning in.
I’m looking forward to our lessons.
It should be no problem to learn German in Tokyo.
There are many good Institutes that focus on teaching German, ( however most of them don’t have native teachers)
About the difficulty of learning German. I feel that at the start, every language can be hard to learn depending since it’s as if you were reborn trying to figure out what your parents are saying. However once you have a good basic understanding It can be as easy as riding a bicycle.
Ask a lot of questions and try to use the new learned skills and your German skills will improve quite fast.
It took me 1 year to have a good basic understanding of Japanese.
And for German I feel the same.
In 1 year you should be able to have a good understanding of the language and be able to hold basic and some deeper conversations.
Of course there are more intense *crash courses* but from what I‘ve seen, most of them will result in forgetting basic important things.
