生徒や教師にとって、学びの中で時が飛ぶように過ぎ、部屋の全員が集中していて、誰も時計を見ていないという瞬間があります。明らかに、誰もがリスニングやスピーキングに夢中になって楽しんでいます。みんなが創造的になり、自分が正しいことを言っているかどうかを分析することはなく、言葉が口から自然に出てきます。単純に、部屋には次の人が何を言うか聞くための興奮があります。なぜでしょうか？それは学ぶことが会話やコミュニケーションであり、そのプロセスを楽しんでいるからです。
私はシスター・コリータの「学生、教師、そして人生のための10のルール」を信じています。ここではそのうち3つを紹介します。
ルール1：失敗はない。成功もない。ただ作ることしかない。 ルール2：唯一のルールは、働くことです。働けば何かが生まれるでしょう。全時間仕事をする人たちこそ、最終的に物事に気づく人たちです。 ルール3：同時に作成と分析を試みないでください。それらは異なるプロセスです。
For students and teachers, there comes a point in learning where the time just seems to fly by, everyone in the room is engaged, and no one is looking at the clock. It is obvious that all are very much into listening and speaking in turn and having fun. Everyone is creating, there is no thought of analyzing if you are saying the right thing or not, and words are flowing out of your mouth. Simply, there is excitement in the room to hear what the next person is going to say. Why? This is what learning is all about-we are conversing and communicating and enjoying the process.
I very much believe in Sister Corita’s, “10 Rules for Students, Teachers, and Life.” Here are three of them.
RULE 1: Nothing is a mistake. There’s no win and no fail, there’s only make.
RULE 2: The only rule is work. If you work it will lead to something. It’s the people who do all of the work all of the time who eventually catch on to things.
RULE 3: Don’t try to create and analyze at the same time. They’re different processes. Having a degree in Performing Arts, I can teach even shy people to be outgoing in most cases.
