私の得意なこと：
• 日常会話 - 知識を実践に移すこと。多くの生徒は学校で日常会話に必要な語彙や文法を学びましたが、実際に話すときには短い文しか作れないことがあります。私はあなたに長く、自然な英語で話す練習をするように指導します。
• 発音 - 日本語は英語よりもはるかに少ない母音音を持っているため、日本の生徒は同じ母音を含む英単語の発音を区別するのが難しいと感じることがあります。私は異なる発音を認識する方法やIPA（国際音声記号）の読み方を教えることができます。また、イギリス英語の発音も教えることができます。
• リーディング - あるトピックを選び、一緒に内容を確認しながら記事を読みます。レッスンの焦点は日本語に翻訳することよりも内容を理解することになります。一緒に問題を解決し、トピックについての会話をします。
• 文法 - 一部の生徒は文法を再学習して、どの状況でそれを使うかを知りたいと考えています。私は文法の微妙なニュアンスを教え、それを独自の状況で使う方法を教えます。
★ 私は日本語を理解し、話すことができますので、日本語で質問しても構いませんが、レッスン中は英語のみでお話しします。
★ レッスンは名古屋市の本山駅近くのカフェで行います。それ以外の場合は、本山からの交通費を請求させていただきます。
Hi, My name is Russell and I’m from the UK. I’m currently a university English teacher in Nagoya. I also work as a private teacher in the evenings and weekends. I have been teaching English in Japan for 5 years. I love the nature and sports and often go outdoors in my free time. I look forward to meeting you.
Things I specialize in:
• Daily conversation – putting your knowledge into practice. A lot of students have learnt at school the necessary vocabulary and grammar to carry out daily conversation but can only produce short sentences when actually speaking. I will coach you to practice speaking longer and more natural English.
• Pronunciation – Because the Japanese language has significantly few vowels sounds than English, Japanese students find it difficult to distinguish between English words that contain the same vowel but have different pronunciations. I can teach you how to recognize different pronunciations and how to read IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). I can also teach you British pronunciation.
• Reading – I will choose a topic and we will read the article while checking the contents together. The focus of the lesson will be on understanding the content rather than being able to translate it into Japanese. We will solve problems and have a conversation about the topic together.
• Grammar – Some students want to relearn grammar and know what situation to use it. I will teach you the nuances of grammar to use it in your own situation.
★ I can understand and speak Japanese so feel free to ask questions in Japanese but during the lesson my policy is we speak only English.
★ I will do lessons at a café near Motoyama station in Nagoya city, otherwise I will charge for commuting cost from Motoyama.
