Hello! I`m Jessa. I`m from the Philippines, but I`m currently residing in Japan. During my first year here in Japan, I was an international student and studied Japanese. After graduating, I worked as an ALT, or Assistant Language Teacher in a public elementary school, and up until now, that has been my main job. I also had experience teaching junior high school students since ALTs can be assigned in elementary school and in junior high school. My job as an ALT is basically to correct the pronunciation and grammar of the students and also provide fun learning materials. I was also selected as one of the ALTs to participate in the Ibaraki Online Study. I got my TEFL/TESOL certificate at the World Tesol Academy and acquired my bachelor's degree at the University of the Southeastern Philippines. I also earned teaching units at the University of the Philippines Open University.
Talking about my interests, I like to go shopping, watch movies on Netflix, and hang out with friends, especially local friends, so that I can practice my Nihongo skills and at the same time share my knowledge in English. As much as I want to socialize in person, I am also looking forward to meeting new people online. See you then!
