Hello, my name is David. I have been a professional English teacher since 2008 and I have been living in Japan since 2015. I also taught guitar for about 10 years in Australia. I am passionate about teaching English in Japan and love watching my students/clients progress. Feel free to contact me about a free trial lesson and how I can customize your lessons for you.
Trial lesson: In the free trial lesson we look at your goals and reasons for learning English so we can create a customized plan to suit your needs. Whether your are learning English for business or career, as a hobby, to enjoy traveling, to communicate with friends or family, etc. I can definitely help you! We will gauge your English level and look at your strong points and the areas that need improving. For example; listening skills, speaking skills, vocabulary, natural phrases, pronunciation and intonation, and grammar. We will practise natural phrases and expand your vocabulary. We can do some picture descriptions, practise useful role plays to build your confidence and work on conversation skills so that you sound natural.
In all lessons I will be taking notes and writing down the vocabulary and phrases we are practising so you can review them after the lesson. In the last 5 minutes of the lesson we will review these notes and I will provide valuable feedback on your strong points and areas to improve. After the lesson you will receive an email with a summary of this feedback and some comments. I will also offer a homework exercise for home study and we can take a look at this at the beginning of your next lesson.
Whatever your personalty type is, I can adjust the lesson style and content to suit you. If you require strict correction or soft correction I can cater to your ideal lesson style.
I will ask you if you have any special requests in the beginning of the lesson. Whether you want to practice free conversation, work though a textbook, do customized role plays or go over presentations for work or schools, we can do this. This is your lesson! And of course, let's have fun and enjoy the lesson too!
Please don't hesitate to arrange your free trial lesson! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
All the best,
David
