A native English speaker from the United States, I’m an engaging person that loves humor and non-stressful environments. I’ve got a strong artistic background as well as excellent writing skills (in 2021 I copyrighted five works; two books, a feature-length film, an RPG module, and a video game document). I consider myself well-travelled, and have had multiple adventures throughout America’s National Parks and lived in Asia (Japan, Thailand, Taiwan) for approximately ten years. I practice several sports (soccer, basketball, martial arts), yoga, Zen meditation, and volunteered to help build the Southern Minnesota Zen Center.
In terms of ESL teaching, I use a combination of Direct and Functional methods, including the Oral and Situational Approaches, Interactive methods including the Series, Natural, and Reading and Storytelling Approaches, as well as other strategies from my own teaching and creative writing courses including peer-matching, rotating leadership roles, and morphological inventions. I’m focused on university and professional business sector learners of English.
