I would like to express my interest in applying as an English Teacher. I have always been passionate about teaching kids and helping them with their skills in English and I believe this position will bring me to the next level of English language teaching. I have been teaching English as a Second Language for 15 years. I have a TESOL Certification from Asia and my last full time teaching experience was at an International Kindergarten in Shanghai, China.I have showed my skills not only in teaching ESL to kids aged 2 to 6 years old but also in creating lesson plans and teaching materials, revising and updating the curriculum, and training new-entry level English Teachers. Since I started teaching in 2004, I have continually made efforts at making the lessons more fun, engaging and effective at the same time. I use both traditional and modern ways to effectively respond to the needs of the students. Singing songs, dancing to the tunes, playing both traditional games like using flashcards, picture cards, worksheets and interactive games are the core strategies that I think should always be in the lessons in the elementary school level . It has been my philosophy that as long as the students are conditioned to learn English, they will eventually learn and like to learn the language. I also had a vast working experience when I first started my teaching career in 2004. My students then were mainly Korean and Japanese kids who needed extra help coping with and understanding their lessons in their English subjects at school.
I moved to Japan with my family last April 2019 and I am currently working as a part time Kindergarten English Teacher in Yokohama. I’ve been wanting to expand my horizons when it comes to teaching young learners and would love to go back to working full time again.
I am confident that my knowledge and experience in English language teaching, my experience working in Shanghai as an ESL teacher and my proficiency in the language can give significant contributions to your school.
