I consider myself as a very responsible and diligent person. I don’t like quitting.
Therefore, I prefer to adopt different approaches till I accomplish my goals. I am very patient
and open minded when it comes to new people and things. Also, I am a quick learner. With the
common sense, I can learn the basic of new things in a short among of time.
- Learning Foreign Language Experience: I speak Chinese, English, Turkish and basic Spanish.
As a Chinese native speaker, I had the chances to learn the other three languages. During
the process, I understand how to gradually learn a language through books, teachers, peers
and myself though every language differs in its culture and structure.
- Teaching Experience: With 4 years of teaching the English-as-a-Second-Language, I have
come to realize that I didn’t just teach them what is in the books, instead, I have shared what I
saw, heard and even experienced about the language.
- Proficiency in Target Language/Full Knowledge of Target Culture: Chinese is not only the
language I speak, but it is also the culture I represent. I remember one professor once said
that only Chinese can read what their ancestors wrote two thousand years ago through some
basic training in Chinese. I may not be from China, but I didn’t confine myself in an island. I
reach out and access information about the past, current and the future. However, as far as I
am concerned, the letters and the system of language that Mainland China using right now is
very different from that of in Taiwan. Yet through job training, even self-educating, I can easily
overcome the obstacle.
- Proficiency in English: I am confident that with my English ability in reading, listening, writing
and speaking, I can successfully help learner fully comprehend what I try to convey.
