Cambridge educated researcher, mentor and environmentalist!
I have been tutoring and mentoring for almost a decade now. That includes hundreds of hours of one-to one teaching both for schools and university admissions, as well as full classrooms and laboratories. I strive for efficiency as well as proficiency, which usually involves touching up fundamentals of both the subject I am teaching as well as the general learning skills. The latter are crucial in the long run of one's academic as well as professional future and I usually like to at least touch base on that with whomever I am teaching.
While always dedicated to teaching which I consider both a hobby and a privilege, I spend my professional time in research. I just spent half a year working at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Nepal working on water security and interdisciplinary approach to landscape work.
I am passionate about education, environment and scientific literacy which connects the two issues. That is why I am also trying out a path of a science communicator as an advocate for education and environmentalism to the governing bodies in my home country Lithuania and outside.
