Hello!
My name is Dakota, and I am currently living in Koenjiminami after having moved to Japan in December, 2019. I grew up in the U.S., and hold a degree in Journalism, with a minor in English Literature. I am very passionate about the English language, and consider teaching the language both a great pleasure and a privilege.
I have spent most of my adult life surrounded by writers. Beginning with my studies, to my professional experience as an executive assistant in the writers office of the CBS television show "Hawaii Five-0," where I spent four years interacting daily with both the scriptwriters and producers of the show. I personally try to write every day, and hope to make a career writing as a journalist, and filming as a documentarian.
I hope to bring a level of comfort to my students with the English language that will help them express themselves both in spoken and written word formats. My approach is centered on determining a students level of skill and comfort, and helping them develop the language "at their own pace." Whatever a student wishes to focus on, from grammar and punctuation, to specific skills like script writing, I am happy to tailor lessons on a case by case basis.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I hope to see you soon!
