なぜ語学を学ぶのか？
言語を学ぶことは、人が身につけることのできる最もやりがいのあるスキルのひとつである。第一に、コミュニケーションを向上させ、異なる文化を持つ他者とつながることができるようになります。旅行であれ、仕事であれ、友人関係であれ、他の言語を知ることで有意義な会話への扉が開かれます。
さらに、語学力はキャリアのチャンスを広げる。多くの企業が、国際ビジネスに役立つ多言語を話せる社員を求めています。仕事を超えて、語学を学ぶことは文化理解を深めます。自分とは異なる伝統や習慣、考え方を理解することができる。
語学学習は脳にも良い影響を与える。記憶力や問題解決能力が向上し、認知機能の低下を遅らせるという研究結果もある。さらに、外国語の本、映画、音楽に接することで、学習者は物語を原文のまま体験することができる。
最後に、言語を学ぶことは人の考え方を変える。異なる言語はユニークな方法でアイデアを表現し、世界に対する新鮮な視点を提供する。難しいことではあるが、新しい言語をマスターすることは自信と忍耐力を養う。
結局のところ、言語を学ぶということは単なる言葉ではなく、つながり、考え、成長することなのです。
私たちのスキルを磨き、才能を育み、世界に有意義な変化をもたらす力を与えてくれる。今日学ぶことをやめれば、明日教えることをやめることになる。学ぶことは生涯続く旅なのだから。
庭師が庭を丁寧に手入れするように、私の役割は子どもたちの可能性を育てることです。適切な世話、すなわち栄養、日光、水があれば、庭は花開く。それと同じように、子どもたち一人ひとりのユニークな才能を育てることで、彼らもまた特別なものを開花させることができるのです。私たちが育むスキルや才能は、世界に永続的な影響を与える力を持っている。私たちは皆、地域社会と世界全体にどのように積極的に貢献できるかを考えよう。
私の教育の旅は2010年に始まり、セブの学校で週末教師として働いた。2011年から2016年まで、私はカウンセラーと幼児開発インストラクターとしてさらに訓練を積みました。その後、バンコクでESL教師として2年間過ごした後、オンライン教育に移行し、国家資格試験に合格しました。2019年、愛知県犬山市にスクールを設立しました。この4年間で、この学校は繁栄し、1人しかいなかった生徒が150人以上に増えました。子どもたち一人ひとりの成長を目の当たりにし、彼らの視野が広がっていくのを目の当たりにし、深い充実感を得ています。
Continual learning is vital for growth—it sharpens our skills, nurtures our talents, and empowers us to make a meaningful difference in the world. If we stop learning today, we stop teaching tomorrow. Age should never limit our pursuit of knowledge, because learning is a lifelong journey.
Just as a gardener carefully tends to a garden, my role is to cultivate the potential in children. With the right care—nourishment, sunlight, and water—a garden flourishes. Similarly, when we nurture the unique talents of each child, they too blossom into something extraordinary. The skills and talents we develop have the power to create a lasting impact on the world. Let us all consider how we can positively contribute to our communities and the world at large.
My journey in education began in 2010, working as a weekend teacher at a school in Cebu. From 2011 to 2016, I furthered my training as a counselor and early childhood development instructor. Afterward, I spent two years as an ESL teacher in Bangkok, before transitioning to online teaching and successfully passing the National Licensure Examination. In 2019, I founded a school in Inuyama, Aichi. Over the past four years, this school has flourished, growing from just one student to more than 150. Witnessing the growth of each child, and seeing their horizons expand, has been deeply fulfilling.
