Hello, I am a Canadian living in Nagoya. My hometown is Montreal (Quebec). I am currently studying at Nagoya University, and my previous uni was McGill University.
I am a native speaker of English & French; my main skills relate to speaking and writing in proper academic and business (formal) English. I would like to help you reach a higher level in all aspects related to communication in English, including everyday conversation.
Qualifications: My English proficiency core is 9.0 on all components of the IELTS test ( = TOEFL 120).
I can therefore help you improve your English and prepare you adequately score well on English proficiency tests. This is especially true for the writing/speaking components of the IELTS, on which even native English speakers and teachers can have difficulty reaching 8 or 9 !
Lessonf Format: I can also hold lessons online via Zoom or Skype, which is what I have been mainly using during the pandemic and is currently the preferred method. The lesson fee is also cheaper!
Price: The lesson hourly rate for more frequent lessons or those of more than 1 hour (1+ hours) can be negotiated. Public transport fee (about 500yen or more) must be added if meeting far from work/home.
Schedule: I recently switched jobs and sometimes have work/events on week-ends. During the week, I can usually only be free later at night.
It could also be useful to first gather basic information, such as students' current language level, their difficulties, objectives and future expected use of English. (academic/business/conversation)
