Hi my name is Becca! I am a 3rd year student from England studying Japanese and Spanish. I am coming to Japan for a year to study Japanese at Rikkyo University. I would love to help anyone who wants to improve their English ability, no matter age or what their level of English is. I am a very friendly and approachable person and I will do all I can to try and help!
In the past, I have done work experience working in a Primary School, which is ages 4-11. During this time, I worked closely with children, helping them to do things ranging from art and physical education, to reading books and learning about history with them. Through this, I got to learn how much I enjoy teaching others and sharing my knowledge.
During my 1-on-1 lessons, I will first give the students a trial lesson, (a baseline assessment ) which will be a great way to assess the ability of the student and indicate how I can help. During the trial lesson, I will give each student a 1 hour lesson catered specially to there English language ability. For example for beginners I will teach some basic English phases that may be good for holiday or travel, or maybe some basic adjectives or greetings. For more advanced students, we may look into grammar structures in English or reading and listening to more difficult passages. From there I will try and get to know each student on a more personal level, so that if they decide to continue with me, they will feel more comfortable.
I am also currently on a TEFL course, which I hope to complete within 4-5 weeks. Which will mean I will be fully qualified to teach English to others.
All I ask for my lessons is that, if you would like me to teach you in any location except Ikebukuro, please pay for my transportation fee!
Please email me if you have any queries!
Just a quick note regarding the situation with the coronavirus at the moment - as we are facing a very scary situation at the moment, i think it would be irresponsible to take up face-to-face lessons with students at the moment. This is why i will only be offering Skype (or other face-time medium) lessons until the circumstances have cleared a bit! Many thanks.
