Hello,
My name is Gabriela, I come from the land of yogurt and I've been teaching English for more than 3 years in Japan, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. I used to tailor both corporate and university lessons, but I've found I'm most fond of preschool aged children, so my full-time job is a hoikuen sensei :)
I enjoy cooking a lot, used to run my own food business back in Bulgaria, but I didn't feel like I'm contributing enough to society, which is why I started teaching.
In my free time, I read tons of books, study Heidegger, play the guitar (to the horror of my neighbours) and help build synthesizers for a small but successful Japanese brand.
Now, please be warned I speak British English and have no interest nor ability to teach its American version. I love using movies or songs in my lessons and believe that languages are learnt through humour. I could also provide my own materials for advanced students or help you work through yours. Free-flow conversations with loads of notes are a wonderful way to learn, but I'd prefer to keep some structure as well (weekly topics, grammar, vocabulary).
I travel a lot and live at two addresses, so feel free to contact me if you see your area listed.
I hope to be able to help you on your journey into the beauty of the English language!
