I am an anthropologist, writer and journalist. I also specialize in anthropological film, and have produced and directed anthropological films for television, most of which have been on Asian society. My main interests are in the social anthropology of Japan, visual anthropology, popular culture and media, anime, and fieldwork and writing anthropology.
I graduated from Keio University in Human Sciences and went on to study at Oxford University where I got an MBA and a Doctorate in Social Anthropology.
