Hey guys! I currently live in Yamaguchi-ken and am available to meet anywhere near the Yudaonsen or Yamaguchi stations. I like to focus on true, natural conversational English and culture (from shaking hands to talking about movies). I can provide the curriculum if you would like. I use elllo.org as a frequent resource. Otherwise, I am happy to help you prepare for an exam or work through your own textbook. I also offer editing services for written work or websites and so on.
I have taught English as a second language for every age group, including previously at Kanagawa University and Tokyo University of Science. I also taught business classes for Sony Ericsson in the Tokyo area.
Additionally, I taught English in South Korea for one year and other university level courses (in Religion and Philosophy) for Florida State University in the U.S.
I have a bachelors degree (B.A.) from the University of Alabama in political science, a masters degree (M.A.) from Florida State University in philosophy and ethics, and a law degree (J.D.) from Syracuse University. I used to be a prosecuting attorney in upstate New York, and I later worked in Securities law (stocks, mutual funds, etc.) for a large firm in Birmingham, Alabama called Maynard, Cooper and Gale.
I welcome beginning students all the way up to college level or industry specific instruction (business, law, etc.). We can do an assessment during our first trial lesson to find out what your skill level is. Finally, you CAN send me a message in Japanese at first if you would like. I work with someone who can translate it (no problem desu!).
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!
