Hello everyone - I'm Aaron! I'm from the United States (North Carolina), and I am in Japan because I am studying at the University of Tsukuba through the G30 program. After I finished High School and before I started studying at University, I spent several years working in the IT/Computer industry as an IT Technician and Software Developer. During that time, I realized that I wanted to finish a degree and study abroad, so here I am!
One of my greatest skills is being able to explain things in different ways based on a person's skill level, interests, and way of thinking. Rather than following a specific teaching resource or pre-existing lesson plan, I change my explanations and teaching style based on the needs, goals, and preferences of the student. Prior to actually giving any lessons, I hope to work with you to figure out what you want to learn, how you learn best, and how I can best serve you as a teacher.
I believe that I am best at teaching intermediate to advanced students, with my primary goal being to help students transition from understanding English to actually being able to use it with confidence. Along with general usage of English, I can also offer more in-depth lessons related to any of my/your hobbies or interests. In the future I plan to offer lessons related to TOEIC, TOEFL, and the Japanese University English Entrance Exams, but I want to finish studying them first to ensure I can teach them properly.
If you have any questions or are interested in trialing me as a teacher, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you hone your skills with English!
