皆さん、こんにちは！ジェス（Jeth）です。マニラで生まれ、その後ハワイに移住しました。多言語・多民族の家庭で育ったため、他の言語にも自然と馴染める環境にありました。私はフィリピン、スペイン、中国の血を引いています。こうした多様な文化的背景を持っていることが、様々なタイプの人や生徒さんと接し、その要望やニーズを理解する上で大きな強みになっています。大学では医学部進学課程（プレメディカル）を専攻し、医学部にも2年間在籍していました。現在は、日本の文化や言語を学ぶことを目的に来日し、東京海洋大学でリサーチ・アシスタントを務める傍ら、ネイティブの英語講師としても活動しています。これまでに訪れた他の国々と比べても、日本はとても暮らしやすく便利な場所だと感じています。よく出かけるのは新宿、渋谷、横浜といったエリアです！将来何をするかはまだ決まっていませんが、世界中の多くの人々と交流し、視野を広げていきたいと思っています！
現在は英語の個別指導を行っており、TOEICやTOEFLの対策を希望する生徒さんも担当しています。年齢のせいでプロフェッショナルな指導ができないのではと思われるかもしれませんが、生徒さんからは「授業の構成がしっかりしていて、大学の講義のように質の高いレッスンだ」と好評をいただいています。私のレッスンでは、豊富なリーディング教材、文法解説などのハンドアウト、少し歯ごたえのあるワークシート、語彙力を高める演習などを取り入れています。リーディングやリスニングの練習はもちろん、スピーキング力の向上にも力を入れています。発音やイントネーションを整え、ネイティブスピーカーのような話し方ができるよう指導するテクニックを持っています！自己紹介は以上です。皆さんと一緒に楽しくレッスンができるのを楽しみにしています！
Hi everyone! My name is Jeth. I was born in Manila but migrated to Hawaii. I came from a multilingual family having mixed races that gave me the ability to adapt myself to other languages easier than normal. I am half Filipino quarter Spanish and quarter Chinese. Having this multicultured personality is the best reason why I can deal with different types of people and students allowing me to understand their wants and needs. I took a Premedical course in the university and was in a medical school for two years. I arrived to Japan with the goal of learning the culture and language. I am a research assistant now at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and currently working as a Native English Instructor. I find Japan to be a very convenient place, compared to the other countries I’ve been to. Places where I usually hang out are Shinjuku, Shibuya and Yokohama! I am not sure what I want to be in the future yet, but I would like be able to interact with as many people around the world as possible, so I can broaden my view of the world!
I do English tutorial lessons now and handle students reviewing for TOEIC and TOEFL. Some of you might think I can't handle lessons that professionally due to my age but based on my students feedback I am very organized and do the lessons well like they are in an university class setting. My lessons are equipped with lots of reading materials, lesson handouts (grammar notes), challenging English worksheets, and vocabulary enriching exercises. Not only that your reading and listening skills to be practiced but your speaking will be trained to greatness as I have techniques that can help your articulations and intonations training you to speak like a native speaker! Well, that’s pretty much it! I hope we can do lessons and enjoy each other's company.
