Learning a new language can be an exciting adventure into a new culture. I want my students to engage in conversation, learning and culture. I would also like to give students the opportunity to learn American cooking and baking as a part of their lessons if they wish.
About me:
My name is Sarah Fitch, and I was born in Springfield, Illinois, the hometown of President Abraham Lincoln. I come from a family of six children. My father has worked with an international organization since I was a small child. Through his work I was exposed to all sorts of different cultures and languages.
I graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Journalism and History. After graduating I moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for a legal organization as the Associate Director for the Student Division at the Federalist Society. I worked with 220 student chapter across the U.S. I then went on to work as a Training Coordinator and Project Manager for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
I married my husband, Jack, a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy in June 2010. Two weeks after we married he left to be stationed in Bahrain, while I remained in Washington, DC.
We moved to Tampa, Florida in October 2011 where we adopted our adorable dog, named Crombie. He is a Border Collie/Lab mix, but sadly we had to leave him in the States with my parents. We are hoping to bring him over to join us soon. I arrived in Japan shortly before the New Year.
My interests and hobbies include: reading, watching classic movies, traveling, cooking, baking, crafts, photography, baseball (the Chicago Cubs) exercise, spoiling the children in my family and spending time with my husband.
