Hello everyone!
I've arrived to Tokyo at February 2018 as an exchange student at Tokyo University. I'm here developing research for my Master Thesis in Architecture.
My mother language is Portuguese from Portugal but I also understand Brazilian dialect. My mother is an English teacher, so I started learning English at 3 years-old. I've never done a proficiency exam to determine my English level but I've reviewed and translated published papers and conference speeches for professors at my home university.
I taught English to Junior High School students in an "after-school" program for 1 year and half and I also worked in international conference and events as a hostess.
During my Bachelor's I did an exchange program for 6 months in Slovenia, all in English.
I hope you will enjoy learning with me! I ask you that on our first contact you tell me which language (Portuguese or English) do you need my help with and what specifically you are looking to improve (what do you already know and what do you have problems with).
I've been learning Japanese at Todai since I arrived to Japan but my conversational skills are still very limited, N5 or lower, so I'm sorry but I can't teach either Portuguese or English if you don't have any base in English at least. Completely beginners in Portuguese are welcome as long as you are able to learn it from English.
Thank you for understanding! And I hope to hear from you soon! :D
Best regards,
Mariana
