Hi everyone! Hola a todos! (español abajo)
My name is Maria, but you can call me Meri or Mei if it's easier for you.
I was born and raised in the south of Argentina, in a town at the very bottom of Patagonia. I relocated to Buenos Aires when it was time for my University studies, and have set base there ever since.
I first had the chance to travel to a faraway land by myself in the year 2013, when I was chosen by my University to participate in an exchange program in Prague, Czech Republic, for one semester. That experience opened the door to many many changes in my life, including a thirst for travels and learning about other cultures different than mine.
I have managed to travel to different locations in Europe, South America, and North America ever since, and now here I am: in the farthest place I have been so far!
It is a pleasure for me to share conversations with people that were raised with different customs than mine and learn all about them, as well as being able to share a little bit of my own culture while we're at it. Teaching through interesting, diverse conversations is the best way to learn about other languages and other cultures.
I am looking forward to continuing this rich cultural exchange I am living here in Japan!

Hola! Mi nombre es María, pero pueden llamarme Meri o Mei, si les resulta más fácil.
Nací y me crié en el sur de Argentina, en una ciudad en el extremo sur de la Patagonia. Me reubiqué a Buenos Aires cuando fue momento de emprender mis estudios universitarios, y me instalé ahí desde entonces.
La primera vez que tuve la oportunidad de viajar a una tierra lejana fue allí por el 2013, cuando fui seleccionada por mi Universidad para participar de un programa de intercambio académico en Praga, República Checa, por un semestre. Esa experiencia abrió muchas muchas puertas para mí, incluyendo una nueva sed de viajar y aprender sobre otras culturas distintas de la mía.
Desde entonces, he tenido la oportunidad de viajar a distintas locaciones dentro de Europa, Sudamérica y Norteamérica, y ahora acá estoy: en el punto más lejano de casa en el que he estado jamás!
Para mi es un gran placer conversar con personas que fueron criadas con costumbres distintas de las mías y aprender acerca de ellas, a la vez que puedo compartir un poco a los demás acerca de mi propia cultura. Enseñar a través de conversaciones variadas e interesantes es, a mi parecer, la mejor manera de aprender sobre nuevos idiomas y culturas.
No puedo esperar a continuar con este riquísimo intercambio cultural que estoy viviendo en Japón!
