私の教え方は、できるだけ早く「話せる英語」を身につけることを目標としています。すべてのレッスンは、生徒さん一人ひとりの英語レベル、目的、興味に合わせて個別に準備します。多くのレッスンでは、私が作成したオリジナルの英文テキストと、それを使った語彙練習を取り入れます。新しい単語や表現を身につけ、それを会話で実際に使うことがレッスンの基本です。
ここは、ただ「何かについて英語で話す」だけの場所ではありません。生徒さんが着実に英語力を伸ばしていけるよう、明確な目標を持って、一人ひとりの言語習得を考えたレッスンを行っています。
授業は、埼玉県小川町の日赤病院の隣にある、古い農家（古民家）の一部を利用した私専用の教室で行います。教室には英語、ドイツ語、日本語の本を揃えており、絶版本や古い貴重な本もあります。コーヒーやお茶を楽しみながら、リラックスした雰囲気の中で、毎回インタラクティブに学べる授業を目指しています。Facebookでも私や教室についてご覧いただけます。
毎回、楽しく興味深い会話をすることを楽しみにしています。英語のレベルは問いません。初心者から上級者まで、どなたでも歓迎します。
私はアメリカで統計学者として働いていました。音楽、美術、写真にも強い関心があります。
レッスン時間は柔軟に対応できます。通常の時間外でも、夜10時まで授業が可能です。日赤病院前のバス停からすぐ、河原温泉から車で2分ほどの場所です。家の前に無料駐車場もあります。
My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop practical conversational English as quickly as possible. Every lesson is individually prepared according to the student’s English level, goals, and interests. Most lessons include original texts I create specifically for my students, together with vocabulary exercises. Building new vocabulary and expressions, then using them in real conversation, forms the foundation of my lessons.
This is not simply a place to “talk about something” in English. It is a goal-oriented learning environment where every lesson is designed with the student’s language development and progress in mind. The aim is to help each student steadily build practical English skills and become a more confident communicator.
Classes are held in my private classroom, located in part of an old Japanese farmhouse (kominka) next to Nisseki Hospital in Ogawamachi, Saitama. The classroom has a collection of English, German, and Japanese books, including out-of-print and antique books. I previously worked as a statistician in the United States. I also have a strong interest in music, art, and photography.
Lesson times are flexible, and classes can be arranged outside regular hours until 10:00 pm. The classroom is close to the Nisseki Hospital bus stop and about two minutes by car from Kawara Onsen. Free parking is available directly in front of the house.
