My name is Landrue, and I have lived in Japan for three years now. I have been teaching English since I came to Japan in 2015. I have taught children in after school programs, all ages in eikaiwa schools, and as an ALT in junior high schools. I work for an eikaiwa company currently teaching adults and young adults around Saitama and Tokyo.
I speak some Japanese, and am used to explaining things in a mix of Japanese and English to students. If you are worried, I have taught children with no English experience, and I currently teach adults who are near native level. Basically, I can adapt to teach any level once I get to know you and what level you are at.
I enjoy teaching, but my dream is to be a cinematographer. I also enjoy living in Japan, and plan on living here long term.
I begin most lessons with free conversation. We then transition into problem areas if I am dictating the lesson flow. If we are meeting for homework or test prep we would get into that after the brief warm up conversation. If you are not a student I will likely give you some homework (to fit your level). It might be a song to listen to and write about, or a worksheet I have made. Regardless, lessons are adaptable, and I do not teach one set method for every student.
