My name is Jhoany, and I´m a Hispanic philology graduate from the Complutense University in Madrid. I´m actually residing in Tokyo, and my wish is to find a job at which I´ll be able to do what I know best, which is teaching Spanish, my native tongue. As a teacher, I always try to establish a deep contact and connection with my students, since I believe that projecting an open personality helps to create a very inviting learning space. I always try to enter the class with a lot of positive energy, since I feel so good while teaching and I truly value communicative teaching methods. That means explaining through theatrical and interactive exercises, music, facilitating the student´s creative implication in their learning process and, above all, make the students become beginners at that language, instead of a mere receptor; which is only attained by creating that true communicative link.
My professional experience is quite ample: I have worked in Vilnius (Lithuania) with groups of approximately three to six adult students and, after that, in Opole (Poland) teaching particular lessons and with groups of two to four students, mainly adults but some children, ranging from an A1 level to a C2. Both experiences have helped me improve as a teacher and to get to know foreign language teaching, apart from sharing great experiences with the students and getting to know their cultures.
To conclude, I must add that my origin is Colombian, so my head is a mixture between Colombia and Spain, where I have been residing for eight years now. This allows me to enrichen my lessons with curiosities and differences between Spain´s Spanish and the Spanish that´s spoken in Latin America. Everything considered, I feel very capable to adapt to any program and very motivated to continue my experience as a Spanish as a Second Language teacher. It would be a pleasure for me to be able to work in Japan and to help the people from this country to get to know my language and my culture a bit better.
I look forward to hearing from you.
best wishes
