Currently, I have been enjoying great success as a tour guide, so, if you are interested in learning about how to present Hiroshima to foreigners in a professional setting, I can be of great assistance. I'm also proficient at helping young children get used to English, as well as HS and college students, and working professionals.
I have raised two children in Japan and taught them English at home. My daughter passed her Eiken 1 test at the age of 16. I can teach you. I have taught at the University, High School, Technical College, Elementary and Middle School levels. My house (with a garden out front) near the Peace Park (in Tokaichi) is an ideal place for lessons. I am very good at teaching children (some of whom recognize me as Santa from photo sessions at LECT or YouMe Town) and also students and adults.
If you are interested in learning English for tourism, I also work professionally as a tour guide and am the Director of a local non-profit that studies history related to 頼 山陽 Sanyo Rai.. .
My method of teaching, and your method of learning, will be immersion. It is not helpful to know what the Japanese equivalent of an English word is, nor how to express English grammatical concepts in Japanese. Rather, the student should immerse him or her self in English every day, for about twenty minutes, with material at his or her level. The purpose of our lessons is to guide that daily immersion.
Thus, improvement is guided by daily practice. Daily practice can mean many things -- I will show you.
