Dear Parents,
My name is Cyrene, but you can call me Cye (サイ). I majored in English in college. And I love children as much as I love English!
I am TESOL certified, trained and experienced in English Language Teaching. My teaching career started at an English school for Koreans and Japanese. I helped students acquire English skill for job, study and travel purposes. And then, I worked in the public school system in Shima, Mie, Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for five years. Currently, I am studying Japanese full-time and teach English part-time.
I now specialize in teaching English to young learners with emphasis on reading. I like children a lot and love seeing them enjoy learning a second language like English. I use songs and games in my class, and I make sure my students have fun while making the most of the lessons. Most especially, I teach reading in my classes because I believe that the very foundation of English proficiency is a good reading skill. My lesson materials are licensed by the British Council and has been tested and proven effective not just among Japanese but also children around the world.
