Hello, everyone!
My name is Vivian, and I am currently studying at Waseda University to become an English teacher in Japan.
For around two to three years, I have taught English as a cram school instructor as well as a private tutor in Thailand (where I grew up) and in Japan. However, I have yet to teach English in Japanese.
It would be my pleasure to teach English conversation primarily in English, but I would also love to help those who need clarification in Japanese!
Allow me to mention that I passed N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) with a full score, and although my conversational Japanese has a lot of room for improvement, I am confident in my abilities to clarify difficult English concepts in Japanese.
While we're on this topic, let me also mention that I used to go to university in America before I came to Japan, and to enter, I had to take the SAT, which is an academic test that is similar to the university entrance exam in Japan. My English scores -- reading and writing-- were both 800/800.
Lastly, I am able to have both large group lessons as well as 1-to-1 lessons for students ranging from age 7 to age 50. For group lessons, I would prefer to conduct them at the student's home. The price per student per hour is negotiable for groups of more than 4 students.
I look forward to hearing from you!
