Hello. Nice to meet you!
I’m an interesting and fun person who is also serious about education. Since I first came to Japan in 1999 I have acquired a great deal of teaching experience with a very wide variety of students of differing English levels, so I know how to successfully design and teach lessons which hold the student’s interest, but also match their educational needs. I have worked with students of all ages, ranging from very young children to adults, and in many, many different situations and environments. This includes everything from public kindergartens to private cram schools to conversation classes to teaching business English classes at high-profile Japanese companies, and much, much more.
For the last decade, I have also worked as a journalist, travel writer and copy editor, and am currently still doing this part-time as a freelancer in Tokyo. I think this unique work experience outside of teaching means I am able to bring something extra to my lessons to share with students, and I also have gained a deeper understanding of Japanese society and the business world.
I’m a fluent speaker of Japanese and can use a little Japanese in my lessons to assist lower level students, if that is what they would prefer.
Looking forward to meeting you and let's enjoy studying English together!
