I am a junior at Temple University Japan majoring in International Affairs and minoring in Political Science. I am interested in the English teacher position and became aware of the opening through an advertisement on Craigslist. Based on my understanding of the position, I believe that my experience, adaptability, patience, and presentation skills would make me an ideal candidate for your company.
As an English conversation teacher at Sky World English, I demonstrated a passion for developing a pedagogy through one-on-one full subject tutoring. I was responsible for everything from reaffirming subject matter in math, sciences, or reading and writing to prepare for upcoming tests, to monitoring the student's grades weekly and refocusing the lesson plan to suit the student’s weaker subjects. I successfully tutored the student to earn straight A's in less than a month. I have also demonstrated my ability to handle a handful of students, 3-4 at a time, for 1 hour and 20 minute lessons. I have been successful in firmly controlling the classroom while teaching the lesson through the vessel of side-splitting laughter. Furthermore, I was offered new classes and private lessons as they became available.
