ジョーイです。山科在住のアメリカ人です。2016年に留学生として来日し、立命館大学衣笠キャンパスのSKP（Study in Kansai Program）で学びました。当時は上京区に住んでいました。卒業後、山科に移り、滋賀県大津市の仰木中学校、そのあと立命館中学校・高等学校で英語を教えました。2021年からは個人レッスンをしています。何歳でも教えています。
Cambridge CELTA（2019年）を持っています。英語はネイティブです。
レッスンは一人ひとりに合わせます。学校の宿題やテスト対策、日常会話、旅行、仕事で使う簡単な英語。初心者も歓迎です。子供はゲームや短い会話から。大人は話しすぎず、必要な表現をその場で使います。
日本語は日常会話なら大丈夫です。場所は生徒さんの希望に合わせます。カフェが多いですが、それ以外でも大丈夫です。車でも電車でも伺えます。
I'm Joseph, an American living in Yamashina. I came to Japan in 2016 as a student on the Study in Kansai Program at Ritsumeikan University, Kinugasa campus, and lived in Kamigyo ward. After graduating I moved to Yamashina and taught at Ohgi Junior High School in Otsu, Shiga, then at Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High. Since 2021 I have taught private lessons. I teach all ages.
I hold a Cambridge CELTA (2019). English is my native language.
Lessons are one to one and built around what you actually need: school homework and tests, everyday conversation, travel, or simple English for work. Beginners are welcome. With kids I use games and short speaking. With adults I keep it practical and do not waste the hour on grammar lectures.
My Japanese is fine for daily conversation. I will meet you wherever you want. Most people pick a cafe, but that is not required. I can drive or take the train, depending on the place.
