親愛なる入学希望者様,
私は第二言語学習者に英語を教えた経験が19年以上あり、その大半は日本人学生への指導です。そのため、日本人学習者が英語（ESL）を学ぶ際に見られるいくつかの特有の傾向について理解しております。これまでに、自身で授業計画を作成し、補助教材も自作してまいりました。また、初級・中級・上級の各レベルの学生を指導してきました。現在もESL講師として勤務しております。
私は応用言語学およびESLの資格を取得しており、その過程で言語構造、文法、用法などについて学びました。
さらに、私自身も外国語を2言語（スペイン語、日本語）学んできたため、第二言語として英語を学ぶ学生の立場から、その困難さや課題の一部を理解しております。また、小学校および中学校レベルで複数科目を指導した経験もあります。学歴としては、社会科学の学士号（スペイン語副専攻）および公衆衛生学修士号（MPH）を取得しております。
第三に、私は教育に強い情熱を持っております。自ら学び続け、修士号も取得いたしました。また、私自身にとって非常に充実した経験のいくつかは、教育を通じて得られたものです。例えば、試験で高得点を取ったこと、レポートで高評価を得たこと、学期を優秀な成績で修了したことなどは、大きな喜びとなりました。私がご縁をいただき指導させていただく生徒の皆さんにも、同じような達成感を味わっていただきたいと考えております。
最後に、私は異なる文化を持つ人々と出会うことを心から楽しんでおります。ESL/EFLの学生と交流し、会話をすることは、他者や異文化について学ぶ貴重な機会であり、私にとって大きな喜びです。そのため、ESL/EFLを教えることは私にとって非常にやりがいのある仕事です。

I have more than 19 (nineteen) years experience teaching English to second language learners, mostly
comprising of Japanese students, and am acquainted with some of their particular aspects of learning
ESL. I have designed my own lesson plans and have written my own supplemental materials myself.
Also, I have taught beginning, intermediate and advanced level students. Additionally, I am currently
employed as an ESL instructor.
I hold a certificate in Applied Linguistics and ESL in which I studied certain aspects of language
structure, grammar, and usage.
Additionally, I have studied two foreign languages myself (Spanish and Japanese) and therefore,
understand from a student's perspective some of the difficulties and challenges in the learning of
English as a second language. I have also taught multiple subjects at the elementary and junior high
school level. I hold a bachelor's degree in social science, minor in Spanish and a master's degree in
public health.
Thirdly, I am passionate about education. I have pursued and earned a master's degree. Also, some
rather pleasurable experiences for myself personally have come from my educational experiences. For example, earning a high score on a test, earning a high grade on a paper, and completing a semester
with high grades were rather enjoyable experiences. I would like others, such as the students I would
be privileged to teach, to enjoy the same experiences.
Lastly, I simply enjoy meeting other people from other cultures. I have found interacting and speaking
with ESL/EFL students to be enjoyable, in that it is interesting for me to learn about other people and
other cultures, which makes teaching ESL/EFL that much more pleasurable.
