Hello and How are you?
How Our Classes Work
(Site link is at the bottom of the page.)
My site has more than English Lesson Information. I may return to having an all English school site, but I wanted to combine my regular site and teaching site to save time and market my interests as positive points to being a teacher.
You can click “learn” when you get there—or ask me whatever you want.
I use your materials, or a book called Can You Believe It. (I can send you the PDF of the book.) I also use the news, a site called Breaking News English (which has all kinds of news-related lessons and audio) and a book called Let’s Talk About It (also a PDF).
The main point is to talk. When you talk (or read) I send you your sentences corrected—in the chat part of the Zoom or Skype system. Skype is actually better, because we can correct the texted chat in real time.
When I have time I can send you voice recordings of your sentences which I narrated—for your practice. (This is extra—but there is no charge) You can store them in your phone, on your computer, in a memory device or discard them when you have mastered the pronunciation.
I also recommend my students read story books. These can be children’s books, novels, short stories or comic books (“anime”). Narrative—or stories—put words, phrases, expressions and idioms in cultural context. This is the best way to approach solo or guided learning (meaning a teacher helps you); the reason—is when we read, we see the words, punctuation and structure we are pronouncing. This means your learning is better because you see the words you are speaking and it is:
•active, not passive
•involves voice, sight and hearing
(a more total brain activity)
•teaching you pronunciation, spelling and listening—including:
•punctuation, and thus;
•style (extremely important and often not taught in Beginner and Intermediate ESL institutes)*
Classes are reserved by payment and purchased in 12, 24 or 55 lessons. The price goes down the more you purchase.
*Notice there is no italics or bold print on this portal page; Most social media platforms do not provide this—except Quora and Medium. This means your English language communication is less effective. If you saw this page as it was written before it was pasted here—you would see something very different and understand it much better.
See the smart ones among you in class.
Thanks for reading and mask up always in public.
Be well & Best wishes,
Carl
